Life of a Candidacy

Once you have submitted your resume/CV and completed our online application questionnaire, we'll review your materials to get a sense of how likely there is to be a match between your skills and our needs. For those candidacies that move forward, the next step is a video interview with a relevant member of our team, which may lead to an invitation to visit our offices in New York City for in-person interviews. (For the foreseeable future, we will be conducting interviews by video instead.) For candidacies that proceed past these stages, we collect references before reaching a final decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply to a position at DESRES?

To apply, please follow this link or send a resume/CV to Želimir Galjanić at

Can I apply for multiple positions?

We always consider applicants for all openings that we think might be relevant, but feel free to let us know if there are multiple specific positions you're interested in when you submit your materials.

What will be covered during my interviews?

In addition to discussing standard interview topics such as your educational background, work experience, and professional goals, the team members you meet might pose technical questions relevant to your work or ours, and might ask you to work through some thought problems or to describe your reaction to hypothetical situations to help them evaluate your analytical and communication skills.

Will there be a schedule or agenda for my in-house visit?

There won't be a formal agenda for your in-house/video interviews, but you can expect to have a series of one-on-one meetings with our team members. There is no need to prepare a formal presentation for a seminar or a group meeting.

Is there a dress code for my in-house interviews?

There is no dress code in our office so please feel free to dress comfortably.

How long does the process typically take?

A typical DESRES candidacy lasts about 10-12 weeks for non-campus applicants and about 8 weeks for on-campus applicants. There's of course a fair amount of variability depending on the specific search, though, so it's important that you keep us informed of any timing concerns on your side. If you have pressing deadlines, we will do our best to accommodate them.

If I've applied in the past, when can I reapply?

If you're a former candidate and are interested in submitting a new application, we encourage you to do so whenever your experience and/or skills have changed in a way you think is relevant for us to consider.
