John Salmon

John Salmon is involved in algorithm design, software development, and computer architecture for Anton. He received a Ph.D. in physics from Caltech, an M.S. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and dual S.B. degrees from MIT, one in electrical engineering and computer science and one in physics. He came to DESRES from Cable & Wireless, where, as a Senior Software Architect, he worked on delivering web content from a network of thousands of machines on six continents. Prior to working on Internet infrastructure, John was a Senior Scientist at Caltech, working on parallel computation and N-body simulations of the large-scale structure of the universe, a project recognized with four Gordon Bell Prizes. John enjoys playing poker, curling, traveling to the ends of the earth, and unconventional cookery. He wears his Jeopardy! champion title, among the highest all-time one-day money winners, with considerable grace.
