He holds a dual B.S. in biology (with a specialization in ecology and evolution) and in mathematics from the University of Chicago. Prior to joining DESRES, Cody was a research assistant in the Allesina Lab at the University of Chicago, where he worked on several projects including a natural language processing study of how elements of writing style affect the performance of journal citations. He has also worked at the Li Lab in Taipei, where he designed a novel method for detecting structural variants in cancer genomes. In his free time, Cody enjoys writing and producing music, running, and researching problems in theoretical ecology.
