Parker de Waal applies simulation to study biological systems. Parker earned a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular genetics from the Van Andel Research Institute. He holds a B.A. in biology from Kalamazoo College. As a graduate student in Eric Xu's group, Parker integrated computational and biochemical approaches to understand the mechanisms of G-protein-coupled receptor ligand binding, activation, and coupling with downstream signaling transducers. In his free time, he enjoys attempting to send V4-V5s, expanding his culinary skills one recipe at a time, and taking potentially one of the largest Alaskan Malamutes, Bok Choy, on long walks.
