Kostya Borisov is involved with simulation studies of biological systems. He received a B.S. in mathematics, chemistry, and molecular biology from the University of Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate, Kostya participated in numerous academic competitions, including the Putnam Competition and the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. In addition, he worked on the University of Pittsburgh’s iGEM team, which was awarded a silver medal at the 2015 iGEM Jamboree for their project on engineering cell-free protein synthesis extracts for use as cheap diagnostic sensors. In his free time, Kostya enjoys programming, especially in the context of machine learning, and swimming.
