David Borhani applies simulation to study biological systems, with a focus on membrane proteins. David received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and an S.B. in chemistry and theoretical physics from MIT, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University in macromolecular crystallography. He then spent nearly twenty years in pharmaceutical research and development within both industry and academia. Immediately prior to joining DESRES, David was a Group Leader in the Chemistry and Biochemistry departments at Abbott Bioresearch Center. In his spare time, David enjoys taking day hikes with his family and their yellow labrador, Gandalf, and fixing up their vintage (1760) home in Westchester County.
