Panos Angelikopoulous is involved in the development of improved force fields for biomolecular simulation. He holds an M.Sc. in applied math and physics from the National Technical University of Athens and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. Prior to joining DESRES, Panos was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Petros Koumoutsakos at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. There, he developed state-of-the-art, high-performance computing tools for Bayesian uncertainty quantification, rare-event estimation, and optimization tailored for large-scale engineering models. In his free time, Panos enjoys flying to offbeat destinations and playing poker and bridge with friends.
