Mark Moraes heads the Systems and Systems Software teams at DESRES. Mark returned to the D. E. Shaw group in 2005 after spending several years designing systems management products at two Bay Area startups—Pointrex, where he was a Founder and CTO, and Tapstone, where he served as CTO. During his previous stint with the D. E. Shaw group, he was responsible for Juno Online Services’ architecture and technical team, as well as for developing systems and network infrastructure for D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. Mark received an M.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, both in electrical engineering.
