Itay Lotan works with Dr. Shaw on a variety of research topics, including enhanced conformational sampling methods, protein structure prediction, and binding energy calculation. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, where he worked with Prof. Jean-Claude Latombe on the application of techniques from robotics and computational geometry to the study of proteins. He holds a B.A. in philosophy and computer science from Tel Aviv University. Itay did his postdoctoral research with Prof. Teresa Head-Gordon at the University of California, Berkeley, where he worked on the development of a multi-resolution simulation framework for the study of protein-protein association.
