Doug Hughes leads the Systems team at DESRES. Prior to joining DESRES, he was a Principal UNIX Engineer at Global Crossing, where he worked on databases, authentication, anti-spam, monitoring, disaster recovery, continuity planning, and other support infrastructure for the global IP backbone. Doug was a founding director for the League of Professional System Administrators (LOPSA). He earned a B.E. in computer engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Doug enjoys most outdoor activities, such as hiking, swimming, bicycling, and sailing, and has a large collection of home improvement and carpentry tools.
