Kate Stafford is involved with simulations of biomolecular systems as well as with research on simulation methods. Kate earned dual S.B. degrees in biology and chemistry from MIT, where she studied free energy changes in the assembly of heterogeneous micelles. Prior to joining DESRES, Kate conducted research on homology-based protein structural models at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. She enjoys video gaming and nonfiction writing, although she does not normally write about herself in the third person.
