István Kolossváry serves as a liaison between the Desmond developers and the user community. István graduated summa cum laude with a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in chemical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology. In 2000, he received a D.Sc., the highest European scientific degree, from the Hungarian Academy of Science. Prior to joining DESRES, István was an Associate Professor in the Chemistry Department at the Budapest University of Technology, and also served as a Visiting Professor at Columbia University. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at TU Budapest. István was a senior research scientist at the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research. He also founded a research, software development, and scientific consulting company, BIOKOL Research, in 1999. István enjoys tennis, hiking, and contemplating and practicing the philosophy of science.
